Build on your family's Plannie.
Connect ChatGPT, Claude or any agent to your household over MCP, or build on the open REST API. Sign in with OAuth or use a scoped key. About ten minutes.
Plannie is a shared family organiser with a first-class agent surface: a hosted MCP server and an open REST API, scoped by household, attributed by name and revocable at any time. It is part of the product, not an add-on.
Add the address
Every assistant and MCP client talks to the same hosted server: https://api.plannie.io/mcp. Add it as a custom connector or remote MCP server.
Sign in, or use a key
Two ways in, with the same scopes either way.
- Sign in with OAuth For ChatGPT, Claude, Meta Muse and other assistants. You sign in to Plannie and choose what the assistant can see and change. No key needed.
- Use an API key For Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and scripts. Create a key under Settings → Integrations and send it as
Authorization: Bearer fam_live_….
Watch it show up
Everything an agent adds appears in the family calendar with a sparkle badge and an activity-feed entry, attributed by name. The whole household sees what was done, and by whom.
Connect from ChatGPT, Claude or Meta Muse
Add Plannie in your assistant, sign in to Plannie and choose what it can see and change. Most assistants need no key. Everything it adds shows up for the whole family, marked with its name.
Claude
- Tap Add to Claude, or open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector and paste the address below.
- Check the name and address and add it. The recommended sign-in settings are fine.
- Sign in to Plannie and choose Allow.
Works on claude.ai and in Claude Desktop, and then in the Claude mobile app too. The Free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it under Organization settings first.
Add to Claude (opens in a new tab)https://api.plannie.io/mcp ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins, tap + and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Plannie, paste the address below as the Server URL and pick OAuth.
- Create the plugin, install it and sign in to Plannie. Then type @Plannie in a chat.
OpenAI supports custom MCP servers on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web, and an admin may need to add it. On Pro it's read-only, so ChatGPT can read your week but not change it. API keys don't work in ChatGPT.
https://api.plannie.io/mcp Meta Muse
- Ask Muse to build a custom connector for the Plannie MCP server at the address below.
- Sign in to Plannie when Muse asks. If it wants a key instead, create one under Settings → Integrations and enter it in the secure prompt, never in the chat.
- Ask Muse to list Plannie's tools to check that it works.
Muse is available in the US and Canada only.
https://api.plannie.io/mcp Mistral Vibe
- Open Connectors, choose Add Connector, then the Custom MCP Connector tab.
- Name it plannie and paste the address below as the Server URL.
- Choose Connect and sign in to Plannie.
Formerly Le Chat. On Team and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector.
https://api.plannie.io/mcp Perplexity
- Open Plugins (or Customize, then Connectors) and choose Add custom, then Add MCP connector, then Remote.
- Name it Plannie, paste the address below and pick OAuth under Advanced.
- Add it, then click the card to sign in to Plannie.
Custom connectors need Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise.
https://api.plannie.io/mcp Any other MCP client
- Look for custom connector, remote MCP server or streamable HTTP in its settings.
- Paste the address below.
- Sign in to Plannie, or send an API key as an Authorization: Bearer header if it asks for one.
https://api.plannie.io/mcp Only an adult in the family can connect an assistant, and it needs the Premium + MCP plan. Disconnect any time under Settings → Integrations → Connected assistants. Using Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Codex? Pick your tool below.
Use an API key
For Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, LM Studio and your own scripts. Create a key in Plannie under Settings → Integrations, pick its scopes and paste it below to fill in every snippet. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Codex can also sign in with OAuth instead.
Stays right here in your browser. It's only written into the snippets below.
claude mcp add --transport http plannie https://api.plannie.io/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer fam_live_…"
One command in your terminal. Add --scope user to use Plannie in every project. To sign in with OAuth instead, leave out the --header part and run /mcp.
{
"mcpServers": {
"plannie": {
"url": "https://api.plannie.io/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer fam_live_…" }
}
}
} Add to Cursor (opens in a new tab)The button adds Plannie and Cursor signs you in with OAuth. To use a key instead, paste the snippet into ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
code --add-mcp '{"name":"plannie","type":"http","url":"https://api.plannie.io/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer fam_live_…"}}' Add to VS Code (opens in a new tab)The button adds Plannie and VS Code signs you in with OAuth. To use a key instead, run the command above or add it to .vscode/mcp.json.
export PLANNIE_API_KEY=fam_live_… codex mcp add plannie --url https://api.plannie.io/mcp \ --bearer-token-env-var PLANNIE_API_KEY
Codex reads the key from PLANNIE_API_KEY. Leave out --bearer-token-env-var and Codex signs you in with OAuth instead. The config lands in ~/.codex/config.toml.
{
"mcpServers": {
"plannie": {
"url": "https://api.plannie.io/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer fam_live_…" }
}
}
} Add to LM Studio (opens in a new tab)LM Studio needs the key. After the button adds Plannie, put the Authorization header from the snippet into mcp.json (Program → Install → Edit mcp.json).
curl "https://api.plannie.io/v1/events?from=2026-08-24&to=2026-08-30" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer fam_live_…"
Plain REST under /v1: JSON in, JSON out, scoped by your key. The full contract lives in the live API reference.
Different client? Anything that speaks remote MCP works: add the address, then sign in or send the key as a Bearer header. Every endpoint is in the API reference.
What your agent can do
Twenty-seven tools cover the family's week: events, tasks, lists, meals, files, members and the activity feed. Each one maps straight onto the REST API, so what MCP can do, your own code can too.
Keys that only open one door
Every key is scoped when you create it and can expire on a date you choose. With OAuth, you pick the same scopes on Plannie's consent screen. A hallway dashboard gets calendar.read and nothing else; revoke access any time from Settings → Integrations.
Self-describing, on purpose
If you're an agent reading this: everything below is machine-readable and generated from the running API. To connect, add the MCP address in a client that supports OAuth and let the person sign in, or ask them for an API key from Settings → Integrations. You can't finish the sign-in for them.
- OpenAPI spec https://api.plannie.io/openapi.json every endpoint, schema and error, generated from the running API
- API reference https://api.plannie.io/docs the same spec, browsable by humans
- Hosted MCP https://api.plannie.io/mcp streamable HTTP · OAuth 2.1 or Bearer fam_live_… key
- OAuth metadata https://api.plannie.io/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp protected-resource metadata that MCP clients use to start the sign-in
- llms.txt https://plannie.io/llms.txt this page, condensed for agents
Developer & agent questions
Can AI agents connect to Plannie, and with which scopes?+
Yes, in two ways. ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants sign in with OAuth: you add Plannie's MCP address, sign in and choose what the assistant can see and change. Coding tools and scripts can use a scoped API key that a household member creates under Settings → Integrations. Either way, access is limited to the scopes you picked, and keys can expire on a date you choose.
Which plan includes API and MCP access?+
The Premium + MCP plan (see pricing for the current price). It includes everything in Plannie Premium plus the open API and the hosted MCP server for your own agents, automations and integrations.
Is agent activity visible to the family?+
Always. Every event, task or list item an agent creates carries a sparkle badge in the app and a named entry in the household's activity feed. Nothing an agent does is invisible to the people who share the household.
